Interculturality and
cultural reflexivity

The rapidly advancing dynamic academic environment of Fulda University of Applied Sciences presents opportunities and challenges for higher education. HFD effectively addresses the task of harnessing and fostering cultural diversity in instruction and learning. Skillfully managing cultural diversity requires intricately incorporating a "culture reflective approach" into the conceptual framework of the Fulda University of Applied Sciences, intertwining it within department structures, and cultivating a "culture reflexive approach" as a cornerstone of the campus culture.

Culture Reflexivity means thinking from multiple perspectives, recognizing diversity, and creating space for it. Culture reflexivity also means becoming more aware of one's own privileges, considering opportunities for participation, and shaping communication together with conversation partners. To achieve this, the actors need fundamental skills such as listening, sensitivity, and the interest in getting to know the unknown and the new.
