In 2019, Fulda University of Applied Sciences took part in the state-wide project "Gender-equitable and diversity-sensitive leadership culture at Hessian universities", supported by the Hessen State Ministry of Higher Education, Research and the Arts (HMWK) and the State Conference of Representatives for Women's Affairs and Gender Equality in Hessen (LaKoF). As part of this process, practical recommendations for action were provided to all managers at Fulda University of Applied Sciences in 2020 in the form of a handout presented to them. This offers ideas for a gender-equitable and diversity-sensitive management culture and comprises practical tips for dealing with anti-discrimination and the selection of personnel.
Since 2022, the CUV division has been offering managers various exchange and further training formats to implement the recommendations for action and constructively address possible implementation hurdles:
- On 23 and 24 September 2026, a two-day workshop entitled “Redefining female leadership – for greater clarity, confidence and impact” will take place for female employees in leadership roles and for women who wish to take on leadership responsibilities in the future. Registration is available via the in-house training programme.
- In the summer semester of 2024, the in-house training programme offered a series of workshops entitled "Successfully managing diverse teams. Opportunities and challenges of a gender- and diversity-sensitive leadership culture". This started on 26 April 2024 with a kick-off workshop and then offered managers from administrations the opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues on various topics in three sessions (gender- and family-conscious, culturally reflective and cross-generational leadership).
