What is a tutorial assistant?

What is a tutorial assistant? If you ask the ubiquitous search engine Google about this topic, the first place you will find a link to Wikipedia, where the term tutorial assistance is defined as follows:

A tutorial assistance (from Latin: tutor 'guardian', 'protector') is a person charged with teaching and guiding others at universities or colleges (see Academic Tutors). This special form of course is also called a tutoriat, tutorate or tutorium, in which the tutorial assistance observes and intervenes helpfully when students have problems. The tutorial assistance can also (still) be a student.

At this point at the latest, interested students feel a little queasy in the stomach area, since on the one hand professional teaching support is to be offered, but on the other hand they are only students with more or less extensive knowledge and practical experience in the area of methodology and didactics in university teaching.

This is where the qualification as a tutorial assistant at Fulda University of Applied Sciences, or TuQ for short, comes into play.
