Offers for teachers
Presentations, term papers or lab reports help students to practise written academic forms - but for many students, the leap from school-based to academic writing is a big one. The Writing Workshop is therefore also a contact for teachers who are looking for ideas to support students in this transition through short or sequential writing assignments.
In addition, the Writing Workshop offers exchange opportunities and suggestions for teachers who would like to use writing in their courses to introduce students to the ways of thinking in their subject - regardless of whether the disciplines are more social sciences, natural sciences or engineering.
We are happy to talk to you about:
- Developing activating writing tasks and 'writing to learn' approaches that use writing to teach subject knowledge and approaches in your own subject.
- Feedback methods and peer review guidance
- Sequencing complex writing tasks
- Designing writing-intensive courses and introductions to academic writing
- Using writing in teaching with a view to the workload for teachers
Occasionally, and on request, further training in writing didactics is offered for lecturers, which can also be credited towards the Certificate in University Teaching.
