Prof. Dr. Thies Beinke, born in 1983, has been Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Fulda University of Applied Sciences since 2020, is Head of the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in Industrial Engineering and Management and a member of the Centre Management of the Fulda Centre for Corporate Management and Business Creation (FU³).

He studied Industrial Engineering and Business Process and Supply Chain Management (M. Sc.) in Rostock, Bremen as well as Växjö (Sweden) and completed his doctorate at the University of Bremen in the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics on the subject of supply chain and cross-project collaborative logistics design.

During his work as a research assistant and project engineer, he acquired, processed and managed numerous research and development projects in the aviation industry, the steel industry, plant construction, the logistics sector and the wind energy sector. In 2018-2020, Prof. Dr Beinke headed the Robotics and Automation Department of the Bremen Institute for Production and Logistics.

In addition to his scientific activities, Prof. Dr Beinke is active as a consultant in the areas of strategy and corporate development.

Teaching Areas

Prof. Dr Beinke is active in teaching in the Bachelor's degree programmes in Industrial Engineering and Mechatronics as well as the Master's degree programmes in Industrial Engineering and Energy and Automation Systems. - Digitisation of business processes
- Technical logistics systems
- Industry 4.0 and cyber-physical production and logistics systems
- Resource sharing in logistics and production networks
