Further education: Safety in University Sports

Fulda University of Applied Sciences is characterised by an outstanding commitment to safe and healthy University Sports and the entire University Sports team pulls together!

The regular in-house seminars are very popular with participants. They gain an insight into statutory accident insurance, learn about technical, organisational and personnel-related causes of accidents, manage accident analyses and receive practical prevention recommendations. There will be a safety-related sporting component in which a selected sport will be analysed.

Dr Jan Ries has produced the publication "Safety in University Sports" in collaboration with Unfallkasse Hessen and the German University Sports Federation. The Fulda university sports model, with its data collection form for practical supervisors, the guidelines for practical supervisors, regular sports group inspections by the university sports office and the consistent implementation of quality-enhancing measures (in-house further education, sending practical supervisors to further education seminars) is recognised and implemented nationwide
