German University Cup 2025 - Volleyball

The Fulda University of Applied Sciences volleyball team has barely been in existence for six months and yet the team travelled to Munich on 2 May to compete in the national competition.
The tournament was held on the grounds of the University of BW Munich, with 15 teams competing on four courts.

The team travelled to Taufkirchen (Munich) the day before and, after a smooth journey, enjoyed dinner together to round off the evening.
The atmosphere was already buzzing that evening, as the team chemistry was great and the food was delicious!

Gameday!
The game started at around 9 a.m. and the first balls were bounced, dug and hit.
Despite having little tournament experience, our team was highly motivated in every game and fought for every point, finishing the group phase in a somewhat unlucky fourth place.

Nevertheless, the day was characterised by many new experiences and great combinations of play and was a not inconsiderable success!!!

In the match for 12th place in the overall tournament ranking on Sunday, our team was beaten by the team from Esslingen University of Applied Sciences and finished in 13th place.

In the final, the first team played against the second team from BW Munich University: it was like a league match with spectacular attacks and saves.
In the end, the highlight of the tournament was the award ceremony.
Everyone was able to feel the unrivalled sporting greatness and fairness of volleyball: everyone received equal applause, contacts were made and promises were made to come back next year.

That is also our goal: to come back, but stronger!
