Fun, games and togetherness

On 21 January, University Sports organised the "Campus Cup 2026" in the sports hall on the university campus. The event, designed as a fun tournament, was themed "throwing". There was a different throwing mini-game for the participants at each of the five stations.

At the beginning, the participants were divided into teams of four and given a sporty team name (e.g. acrobatics, badminton, fitness, etc.). After a brief introduction to the game system, it was time to get started.
Over the course of the tournament, each team faced the five throwing challenges and collected points - usually in direct duels with another team. The relaxed atmosphere and smiling faces of the players quickly confirmed that fun was the main focus of the evening.
Once all the stations had been successfully completed, the top two teams in the preliminary round qualified for the final. Unsurprisingly - another throwing game. This time in "Penalty Shoot-Out" mode. In this game, the "acrobatics" team showed the better nerves and narrowly won the Campus Cup against the "belly dance" team. 
The "Fair Play Award" was also presented that evening. The teams assessed each other on their respectful, fair and honest behaviour during the respective games. The prize went to team "Frisbee". The close ranking of the fair play table confirmed the basic idea behind this type of tournament: play, fun and togetherness.

The event once again emphasised the importance of sporting events in the context of social interaction. At the Campus Cup, (international) students and employees from the various university departments came together and spent a fun evening together with moderate exercise.
