TK expert lecture on the topic of "Digital Detox" on 14.01.2026

The presentation "Digital Detox: Movement instead of virtual worlds", organised by University Sports in cooperation with the health insurance provider Techniker Krankenkasse, offered participants in-depth insights into the importance of a balanced lifestyle in the digital age. Designed as a hybrid format, the course allowed attendance on site or online. The specialisation of the presentation was on the funding of physical health through exercise as a balance to the intensive use of digital media.

During the course, practical practice classes were presented that can be easily integrated into everyday life and help to minimise the negative effects of constant digital availability. Questions about digital media use, such as the duration of daily mobile phone use and the influence of social networks on social life, encouraged self-reflection. In addition, strategies for reducing stress, such as mobile phone-free zones and conscious exercise activities, were taught related to practice. Participants learnt how these measures contribute to improving their health and help them find a balance between the virtual and physical world.

The "FiduS - Fit through university studies" offer from Fulda University of Applied Sciences was also highlighted as an excellent opportunity to get active directly at the university. It supports students and instructors in integrating active breaks into their everyday university studies and work.
