Mushroom excursion organised by University Sports

During the three-part mushroom excursion around Fulda, participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of large fungi. Under the expert guidance of Alex Maier, they not only learnt about different types of fungi, but also gained valuable insights into their role in forest ecology. Whether as decomposers, mycorrhizal partners or parasites - the importance of fungi was impressively illustrated.

With clear statements and practical practice classes, both beginners and experienced mushroom enthusiasts were able to expand their knowledge and learn the basics of mushroom identification. The field trips took place in the best autumn weather and offered participants the opportunity to use their newly acquired knowledge directly in the forest. The consistently positive response underlines the great interest and enthusiasm for this educational series of events.
