University Sports at the 2026 Summer Festival

Entertainment programme and hands-on activities for employees.

At Fulda University of Applied Sciences’ 2026 staff summer party on the ‘Old Campus’, University Sports presented a varied program of shows and hands-on activities.

Mazen ElSharnouby wowed the crowd with a solo calisthenics performance. This sport focuses on training using one’s own body weight, with the main emphasis on strength, core stability and flexibility. In his performance, he demonstrated, amongst other things, elements on parallettes (hand bars) as well as dynamic and static skills.

The University Sports HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) group provided an insight into historical European martial arts – including sparring-style and competition-oriented elements. Alongside various historical training weapons, basic movements and principles were also demonstrated.

In keeping with our ‘Active Campus’ initiative, there was a box containing various sports equipment. It encouraged spontaneous participation and physical activity, for example with throwing games, balls, skipping ropes and balance boards.

The summer festival thus provided a great opportunity to meet up in a relaxed atmosphere, exchange ideas and actively experience University Sports. A big thank you goes to everyone involved: above all to the Presidential Board for the invitation, the event management team for organising the event, and our course instructors for their dedication at the summer festival.
