The departmental council discusses matters of fundamental importance to the department.
It is responsible, among other things, for:
- Issuing the examination regulations and the study regulations after hearing the body of the student council (Fachschaftsrat),
- Proposals for the establishment and discontinuation of degree programmes,
- coordination of research projects,
- proposals for development planning,
- commenting on the Presidium's target agreements with the departments,
- Decision on the appointment proposal of the appointment committee
