Student committees at the Fulda University of Applied Sciences

As representatives of student interests, the committees of the student body help shape the university within the framework of its self-management. In addition to dealing with business, social and university policy issues, their central tasks include advising and supporting students (see Hessian Higher Education Act).

What is the student parliament?

The student parliament (StuPa) is a democratically elected replacement of the students, which represents the interests and needs of the students at our university. It is an interdisciplinary committee, passes a total of 19 seats and is usually chosen for one year by the student body of Fulda University of Applied Sciences.

The main task of the student parliament is to represent the interests of students vis-à-vis the Presidential Board Office and other organisations. This includes improving study conditions, amending and adopting statutes and rules of procedure, making financial decisions such as the distribution of financial resources and strengthening student co-determination.

The student parliament works closely with other student organisations such as student association councils, the senate, the AStA and university groups.
