Student committees at Fulda University of Applied Sciences
As representatives of students’ interests, the student body’s committees help shape the university within the framework of its self-management. In addition to addressing economic, social and university policy issues, their key tasks include providing advisory services and supporting students (see the Hessian Higher Education Act).
Student Parliament (StuPa) : Fulda University of Applied Sciences
What is the student parliament?
The student parliament (StuPa) is a democratically elected body representing students, which works to promote the interests and needs of students at our university. It is an interdisciplinary committee, comprising a total of 19 seats, and is usually chosen for a one-year term by the student body of Fulda University of Applied Sciences.
The main task of the student parliament is to represent students’ interests in dealings with the Presidential Board Office and other organisations. This includes, amongst other things, improving study conditions, amending and adopting statutes and rules of procedure, making financial decisions such as the allocation of funds, and strengthening student participation.
The student parliament engages in close collaboration with other student organisations such as student association councils, the senate, the AStA and university groups.
