What is the sustainability certificate?
With the Sustainability Certificate, Fulda University of Applied Sciences has been offering its students an additional qualification in the field of sustainability since the summer semester 2025.
Various facets of sustainability are becoming increasingly important not only globally but also in the world of work, and points of contact with sustainability requirements have long been a reality in a variety of different professional fields. And even in our everyday lives, the question often arises - is this sustainable? And what exactly is sustainability? The new sustainability certificate gives students the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the basics and various dimensions of sustainability, learn how these can be used in their professional lives and also take away impulses for their own private lives. It also provides deeper insights into the sustainability aspects in their own field of study.
For general or organisational questions, please send an email to: nachhaltigkeitszertifikat(at)hs-fulda.de
The sustainability certificate is composed of three components - a central foundation module and two further advanced modules from your own or another study programme. The certificate is an add-on for students to sharpen their profile.
The next run of the foundation module will take place in the 2026 summer semester, in German. In the winter semester 2026/27 it will be offered in English for the first time. The advanced modules can be taken at any time, either before attendance of the foundation module or at the same time or afterwards.
