Sustainability strategy

of the Fulda University of Applied Sciences

On 12 July 2023, the Fulda University of Applied Sciences published its sustainability strategy which comprises social, ecological and economic aspects. Sustainable development at the university is thus anchored as a strategic cross-sectional task in four dimensions.

Sustainability dimensions

Learning and Teaching

Campus operations and university community

Sustainability governance and participation

Research and transfer

Based on an inventory, goals and measures were derived for the individual dimensions.

All members of the university were able to participate in the development of the sustainability strategy: In the course of a university-wide sustainability event, the establishment of working groups and sustainability meetings with students, there were numerous opportunities to get involved in the strategy process. The process was supported by an overarching monitoring committee in which all university stakeholder groups were represented.

The implementation of the sustainability strategy continues to be monitored by the Committee for Sustainable Development (KNE).
