Alessio Cavaterra wins Young Author Award 2021
17 Dec 2021
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Steven Lambeck and Alessio Cavaterra (both Control Engineering Team) attended the 31st Computational Intelligence Workshop in Berlin from 24 to 26 November 2021. There, they presented a paper on the approximate modelling of e-bike chargers, which was developed in close collaboration with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ulf Schwalbe(Renewable Energies and Electromobility) and Dr.-Ing. Martin Wattenberg (Infineon Austria AG) [1].
The article presents a partial result of the research and development project "SCharger". This comprises the approximate modelling of the non-linear dynamic behaviour of the charger in as large a working range as possible. Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy systems [2] are used for modelling, which, among other things, simplify subsequent controller design. The aim of "SCharger" is to develop a control and operating strategy for a novel e-bike charger based on an LLC resonant converter topology.
The technical committee 5.14 "Computational Intelligence" is assigned to the Society for Measurement and Automation Technology within the VDI. The committee presented Mr Cavaterra with the Young Author Award 2021 for his outstanding contribution. "I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the jury and to the Technical Committee 5.14 for this appreciation. This award was only possible due to the close and collegial collaboration with Prof. Schwalbe, Dr. Wattenberg and Prof. Lambeck," shares Alessio Cavaterra.
According to Mr Cavaterra, two further publications are already planned. These will deal with the control and operating strategy of the new type of charger.
