The HLB has acquired a campus licence for the Citavi literature management programme. This gives all members of Fulda University of Applied Sciences (staff and students) the opportunity to use the software free of charge.

Citavi helps with the management of literature references and the creation of citations, among other things.

Students and employees of Fulda University of Applied Sciences can use the HELP learning platform to gain an initial insight into the basic functions and their use by means of worksheets (only in german).

Citavi is a software for literature management and knowledge organisation. You can:

  • Manage and sort your literature references
  • Transfer references from library catalogues and databases with one click
  • Link literature references with full texts
  • Cite according to standards and without errors
  • Automatically create bibliographies in different citation styles
  • Create a team project to work together with others on a project

When working with Citavi for Windows, you can decide for each project whether to store it locally on your computer or in the Citavi cloud. You can collaborate with others in the team when storing in the cloud.

All you need to work with Citavi Web is an up-to-date browser. Project data is always stored online in the Citavi Cloud. With Citavi Web, you can collaborate with others in the team, regardless of which operating system is used.

Both versions can be tested free of charge for 30 days. A licence is required to continue working with Citavi after the trial period.

You need a licence to work with Citavi. University members receive the licence authorisation when they create a Citavi account with their university email address. Users who do not belong to HS Fulda can purchase a licence as a private person.

Step 1

Download

First download the current version of Citavi: www.citavi.com/de/download.

Step 2

Installation

After the download, start the installation by double-clicking on Citavi6Setup.exe. The Word Add-In and the add-on programmes Citavi Picker (for Internet browsers and Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader) will be installed automatically.
