European Documentation Centre
The European Documentation Centre (EDC) - the first to be established at a (subject) university - documents and communicates the basic documents and the most important publications of the European Union and its institutions, provides access to online databases and also offers its services to the business community, social facilities and the interested public in the region. It is integrated into the HLB at the campus location and is located on the ground floor.
The EU is increasingly switching to electronic publications: Online publications accessible via the Europa server, databases from or about Europe or texts, documents and databases on CD-ROM. These are available in the library.
All publications are catalogued in FILIP. The formal and content-related indexing corresponds to that of the general library stock. The library does not automatically analyse articles, legal acts and the like. The Find-eR database (formerly ECLAS), into which the online database SCAD is integrated, serves as evidence of publications. EUR-Lex, the legal database of the European Union, can be searched free of charge. The EDC's own stock, with the exception of journals, is borrowable.
In addition to the EDC's publications, the general stock includes a large number of European-related publications, most of which are borrowable.
