For professors at Fulda University of Applied Sciences
At Fulda University of Applied Sciences, professors are primarily responsible for selecting the media available in the university library. They decide which literature is to be purchased, how many copies are needed and whether the media should be borrowable. We take over the procurement of the media and work them into the stock.
Library officers are appointed in each department for contact with the library.
Please ask the library officers. They will be able to answer any further questions you may have, as ordering authorisations and procedures are regulated differently in each department.
The library officers are currently:
Each department covers the costs of acquiring new media from its budget. It is up to the department to decide what proportion of the budget is used for library orders.
You can order individual titles and journal subscriptions via our online literature order form on the intranet. For several titles, a PDF form is also available there, which you can send to us by e-mail. Please fill in all fields as completely as possible and do not forget to state your cost centre.
Electronic media and databases are usually purchased by the library through consortia, as this is much cheaper than purchasing them individually. It is not possible to order via the order form. This also applies to CD-ROMs, congress publications, research papers, etc., which are usually not available in bookshops.
In these cases, please contact us directly and we will discuss the further procedure with you.
The library weeds out obsolete and no longer needed media according to the professors' specifications in order to make room for new media. We are happy to support you in this work - please contact us.
