Secondary publication

The University and State Library (HLB) offers you the opportunity to make secondary publications of your publications available online on the Fulda University of Applied Sciences document server (FulDok) and to archive them in the long term (so-called Green Open Access).
For journal articles, book chapters and contributions to conference proceedings that have been published in the last five years and with affiliation to Fulda University of Applied Sciences, the University and State Library (HLB) will check the legal conditions and requirements of publishers for you.

Our service

Our service for members and affiliates of the Fulda University of Applied Sciences:

  • Examination of the legal conditions for secondary publication
  • Contact with publishers to obtain the necessary laws
  • If necessary, preparation of the files and appointment on the document server
  • Inclusion in the library catalogue increases visibility on the internet
  • If necessary, addition of the full text to the university bibliography

For this we grade:

  • Your publication list with affiliation Fulda University of Applied Sciences (ideally in RIS or Bibtex format), if possible with Digital Object Identifier (DOI)
  • Your written statement of consent for the publication of your publications on the document server. In the case of publications with several co-authors, all persons involved must agree to the secondary publication.
  • If applicable, your ORCID iD for author identification
  • Depending on the legal situation, your active participation in the consideration of the publishing contract and the procurement of the required version of your publication (e.g. accepted manuscript version)

The secondary publication service is not available for books (monographs and complete anthologies or conference proceedings). The reason for this is that very few publishers allow the secondary publication of entire books free of charge.
