Sponsors take responsibility - and so the book sponsor takes (financial) responsibility for one of HLB Fulda's valuable works. Because not all of them are in perfect condition. Mould, ink erosion, water damage, unfavourable storage or simply intensive use damage bindings and book blocks. A random damage survey carried out in autumn 2002 revealed that around 35% of the 17th-19th century stock, for example, is affected.

The HLSB is committed to the protection and preservation of its cultural treasures and is therefore very grateful to the Society of Friends and Sponsors of the HLB Fulda e.V., which supports the book sponsorship programme in many ways.

• Contact us or select a book from the title list first. There you will find a detailed report on the state of preservation and the necessary measures for each work.
• With your basic scholarship for a book, you can cover the full restoration costs or contribute to them. Any amount is welcome!
• Please send your contribution to the donation account of the Friends and Sponsors of the HLB Fulda e.V.

• Receipt of your basic scholarship will be confirmed by a donation receipt. Book sponsors are welcome to view the book to be saved before and after the Restoration on the premises of the HLSB Fulda. Please make an appointment with us for this purpose.
• If they agree, the basic scholarship holders will be mentioned by name on the HLSB Fulda homepage. You can find an overview of previous basic scholarships here.
