Want to look at a picture book independently and have the text read aloud at the same time? This is possible with the Sami reading bear, which is attached to suitable picture books and connected to the WiFi. The reading bear recognises exactly which page is being looked at and reads the corresponding page aloud with music and sounds. The Children and Young Adults Department offers Reading Bears and matching picture books for children aged three and over to borrow.

This additional way of promoting reading was funded by the municipal financial equalisation scheme, which the state of Hesse also awarded to the HLSB Fulda this year to strengthen libraries, among other things.
