Library card for persons with chip card

Authorised persons, such as guest students, receive a chip card from the university with which they can use the university, state and public library, among other things. A library account is automatically set up with the chip card. The library card number is printed on the back of the chip card in clear text and as a barcode.

Together with the chip card you will also receive a university e-mail address.

Please set yourself a password before using the chip card as a library card for the first time.

The e-mail for setting the password will then be sent automatically to your university e-mail address.

The chip card automatically becomes invalid at the end of the authorisation.
If you wish to continue using the library afterwards, you will receive a new library card on presentation of the relevant documents (identity card/passport with certificate of registration/residence title) at the service desk during service hours.

Please inform the Student Administration Office about changes of address and name: horstl(at)hs-fulda.de

If you have lost your chip card or it has been stolen, please report the loss immediately to the Student Service Center and the library so that we can block your library account. During our service hours, contact the staff at the service desks; outside service hours, write an e-mail to service-hlsb(at)hs-fulda.de.

It is not possible to return the chip card to the library. If your authorisation for a chip card ends, it automatically becomes invalid.

In these cases, please contact the Student Service Centre.
