Library card for students of Fulda University

A library account is automatically set up for students.

The student card (chip card) is used as a library card. Your library card number is printed on the back of the chip card in clear text and as a barcode.

Before using the chip card as a library card for the first time, please set yourself a password (the e-mail is automatically sent to your university e-mail address) or come to one of the service desks to have a password registered.

For students of Fulda University of Applied Sciences, the chip card automatically becomes invalid upon exmatriculation.

If you would like to continue using the library after exmatriculation, you will receive a new library card free of charge upon presentation of the relevant documents (identity card/passport with certificate of registration/residence title).

Please inform the university's Student Service Center immediately about a change of name and make address changes yourself in HORSTL.

If you have lost your chip card or it has been stolen, please report the loss immediately to the Student Service Centre and the
library so that we can block your library account. During our service hours, please contact the staff at the service counters; outside service hours, please contact us by e-mail.

It is not possible to return the chip card to the library. The chip card automatically becomes invalid upon your exmatriculation.

You can appoint up to three people to use the library on your behalf with your library card. The authorised person must be able to identify himself/herself by means of the power of attorney and his/her identity card or passport. You can obtain the form here.

Please contact the Student Sevice Center, e.g.
- if you did not receive a chip card as a first semester student,
- if your account in the library is blocked because you are exmatriculated and you are sure that this does not apply.
