You can make scans of books, magazines and other printed material. The following devices are available for this purpose:
With the (book) scanners you can scan books, magazines etc. free of charge, page by page and save them in various output formats on a USB stick or send them by email.Please note:
The production of the scans on the (book) scanners is free of charge for you.

You can use the multifunction copiers to scan books, magazines, loose sheets etc. and send them to your university email address in various output formats.You can use either the glass feeder or the automatic document feeder (ADF) for scanning.Hereyou will find a quick guide to scanning on the multifunction copiers (in german). The microform scanner (film scanner) enables you to read and print from microforms such as microfilms and microfiches.The device can be used free of charge by prior appointment. Please make an appointment at least one day in advance at service(at)hlb.hs-fulda.de. Please state exactly what you wish to view.
You can print out the pages scanned with the microform scanner on the multifunction printer (coin-operated copier) on the 1st floor at the campus location for a fee.
Reproductive work on articles from newspapers and so-called newsstand or consumer magazines can be done by sending copies if the copyright of the contribution ordered has expired. If authors are identifiable, the copyright expires seventy years after their death. In the case of anonymous contributions, copyright expires seventy years after publication.
You will find the microform scanner at the campus location on the 2nd floor in the "Special Collections" room (room 221).
Use of the microform scanner (reading on the device) is free of charge.
The printing of scanned pages is subject to a fee. The prices are the same as for the multifunction copiers.

It is very easy to use: Install and open any scanning app on your mobile device. Position the medium to be scanned in the scan tent, place the smartphone or tablet on the tent roof and scan according to the app instructions.
You can scan formats up to A3 with the scan tent.
The scan tent is located at the campus location on the ground floor to the right of the staircase.
Use of the scan tent is free of charge.
