Databases

Databases

Databases are information tools for literature research that are available online. They are used to search for literature (bibliographical references and, where applicable, full texts) and to search for facts and information of all kinds.

You can find the databases by searching the Database Information System (DBIS).
The Database Information System (DBIS) is a co-operative service for using academic databases.

The information sources available for your research include specialised bibliographies, full-text databases, article databases, dictionaries, address and company directories.

The access options to the databases are indicated by different coloured traffic light symbols:

freely available (also from outside the university network)

Licensed for the University, State and Public Library Fulda and searchable in the university network

not available (no licence for the University, State and Public Library Fulda)

To search the selected databases, follow the instructions and help on the websites of the respective providers.
If you find literature that is not directly available as a full text, check its availability in the HLSB by searching FILIP.

Selected licenced databases can also be searched directly via FILIP in the Databases tab. Follow the link "Zum Volltext" (Full text) or "Prüfe Verfügbarkeit" (Check availability) in the hits to determine access options.
