The GENIOS eBIB platform offers a broad spectrum of over 420 daily and weekly newspapers, supplemented by 400 video courses (explainity® and Studyflix) and business information. In addition to current daily content, it also contains extensive press archives. Many of these date back to the early 1990s, some even to the 1940s.
The extensive portfolio is made up of the major national newspapers from Germany (e.g. Die Zeit, Handelsblatt, Süddeutsche Zeitung, taz), Austria and Switzerland as well as a unique range of regional German newspapers in particular (e.g. Frankfurter Rundschau, Hannoversche Allgemeine). The offer is supplemented by a selection of international titles (e.g. National Herald Tribune, SPIEGEL Online International) as well as reports from national and international news agencies.
The GENIOS eBIB platform offers a wide range of user-friendly research options, full access to articles, press and topic monitoring and personalised source lists. Selected articles can also be downloaded/printed as PDFs or sent directly from the eBIB by email.
The GENIOS eBIB can only be used in the browser. Login with library card number and password via HeLiMa (Hessian licence manager): https://genios.ebibliotheken-hessen.de/ Access is only possible for users from the city and region who live in the district of Fulda district. Students and university members cannot use the GENIOS eBIB either. However, the WISO database is available to them in the university network and via VPN.
After logging in, customers receive a so-called day pass, which is valid until the end of the calendar day. With a day pass, approximately 20 - 30 articles can be read with full access.
If the volume for the calendar day has been used up, customers can only receive a new pass the next day. A day pass corresponds to approx. 40 € article volume. As the publishers charge different prices per article, the number of accessible articles per daily pass may vary.
