How do I find... essays?
If you know the references for a particular article/study (from an academic journal or collection of articles), you can search for the title of the journal or collection of articles directly in FILIP under "Local stock". Make a note of the shelf mark to find the journal issue or book on the shelf or call up the electronic full text.
Please note: With a few exceptions, no articles are listed under "Local stock". You should therefore search for the title of the journal or book in which the article is contained (= parent work).
If you only know the title of the article (and/or its author), choose the"Databases" tab for the search in FILIP:
If you receive the information "To full text" in the hit list, electronic access is possible.
The entry "Examiner availability" checks whether the article is available in the HLSB (forwarding to FILIP) or freely available on the internet or whether the article can be ordered for you via "Stock of other libraries" (forwarding to the HeBIS portal/interlibrary loan).
For a comprehensive search (on a topic), you can use specialised databases in which you can search for articles, among other things. DBIS offers you structured access here.
The EZB is a service for the effective use of academic full-text journals on the internet. Further information can be found under Journals and newspapers.
