How do I...find literature on a topic?
To find literature on a specific topic, you can use the "Keyword" field in the advanced search in addition to the simple search. Subject headings describe the content of the book or other medium as precisely as possible. In FILIP, the keywords are also listed in the detailed display of a title. The terms can be clicked on so that a search is carried out using this term. Several keywords can also be combined with each other.
The use of different search terms is also important for a detailed thematic search. For example, use synonyms (car - passenger car) to find other titles on your topic or use generic and sub-headings to highlight different aspects of the topic.
Further assistance for researching in FILIP is provided by the search using the "RVK notation" field, which you will find in the detailed display of a title. Thematically appropriate classification centres are listed here. Click on "Info" to see information on this RVK notation. Click on an RVK notation to see all titles from this area.
In English-language sources, keywords are referred to as "Keywords" or "Subject Terms", for example.
