How do I find... Magazines and newspapers?

All journals and newspapers held by the HLSB are listed in FILIP. Search e.g. with the fields "Title keyword" or "Full title" and restrict the search to the publication type "Journal/newspaper".

Please note:

  • In FILIP, only the journal or newspaper titles are listed under "Local stock". You will not find any information about the content or individual articles. For the (thematic) search for journal articles etc., see How do I find... articles.
  • As a rule, you will find information on the volumes available in the HLSB under Stock. E.G.
    • "1.2001 - ": current subscription; since issue 1 of 2001 all issues are available in the HLSB.
    • "3.1976 - 12.2012": the subscription was cancelled in 2012. More recent issues are no longer available in the HLSB.

As with books etc., you will also find information on the location and shelf mark of journals in the detailed display.

If a particular journal title is not available in Fulda, you can start a Germany-wide search in the stocks of academic libraries in the HeBIS portal. To do this, click on "Interlibrary loan" below the hit list in FILIP

Many journals and newspapers are also available electronically. Details can be found under E-Journals.

You can use the EZB as a directory of all (academic) journals that have a digital edition. Access to the full texts for the HLSB Fulda is indicated by the traffic lights.

Please note: You cannot search for articles in the EZB, only for journal titles. As a rule, you can only search for articles from this journal on the homepages. There are databases available to you for a comprised article search.
