GitLab

GitLab is a web application for version management based on Git - primarily for software development, but also suitable for collaborative work on texts, for example.

All members of Fulda University of Applied Sciences have access to two instances of RWTH Aachen - made possible by the HFD's attendance at the NFDI4ING consortium. This is an offer for all departments (login with HFD account, previously choose "Fulda University of Applied Sciences"):

Ultimate for Education for teaching and development of open source software without profit intention.

Core (git-ce) for research.

External users can be invited to projects with their GitHub account, but cannot create their own projects or groups.

Please note:

  • Students only have access to git-ce (when registering via DFN-AAI, status is also transmitted to the university). Projects with planned active student participation should therefore always be created on this instance.
  • Login with GitHub account is only intended for external users. Members of the HFD should never (also) register with their GitHub account - if this is linked to the same university email address, their authorizations may otherwise be withdrawn.

Introductory training courses on GitLab are being prepared by the library, please let us know if you need them.
