Research Data Management Organiser

The Research Data Management Organiser (RDMO), originally a DFG project, offers structured questionnaires for creating data management plans. Researchers at Fulda University of Applied Sciences have access to this web-based tool with their university account as part of a HeFDI cooperation with TU Darmstadt. RDMO also enables collaboration with project partners (within Fulda University of Applied Sciences, HeFDI network) in the creation of a DMP.

To create your own project, the first step is to enter the project title and (optional) project description and then choose a questionnaire. Questionnaires differ in the level of detail provided/requested and the scope of explanations in help texts. Differences result primarily from the requirements of various sponsors. In the case of "private" DMPs (not required by the funder), the selection of a question catalogue may depend on what the researchers consider to be in their own interest.

Data management plans (DMPs) are increasingly a requirement of funding organisations - as part of a project application or as an early deliverable of a research project. They are also in the researchers' own interest, to better structure their own working methods and collaboration at the end of projects. They describe the handling of data from as early a stage as possible, both during and after a research project. DMPs are - preferably - "living documents" that can be revised and concretised during project progression.
