Professor Huth zu Gast an der Tomas Bata University in Zlín – Prof. Dr. Michael Huth visits and teaches at Tomas Bata University in Zlín

Dr. Ing. David Tuček, der Dekanin der Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management, Assoc.-Prof. Dr. Ing. Zuzana Tučková, dem Prodekan für Doktoratsprogramme, Dr. Ing. Lubor Homolka, dem Prodekan für internationale Beziehung, Assoc.-Prof. Dr. RNDr. Bedřich Zimola, der Leiterin des Department of Industrial Engineering and Information Systems Dr. Ing. Denisa Hrušecká, sowie weiteren Professor*innen an der Faculty of Management and Economics.

Tomas Bata University in Zlín is the youngest partner university of the Department of Business at Fulda University. Reason enough to pay it a visit, intensify the partnership, and establish further contacts. As part of the ERASMUS programme, Professor Michael Huth took advantage of this opportunity and visited the university in the East Czech industrial city of Zlín.

The program included discussions with the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Economics, Assoc.-Prof. Dr. Ing. David Tuček, the Dean of the Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management, Assoc.-Prof. Dr. Ing. Zuzana Tučková, the Vice Dean for Doctoral Programs, Dr. Ing. Lubor Homolka, the Vice Dean for International Relations, Assoc.-Prof. Dr. RNDr. Bedřich Zimola, the Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Information Systems Dr. Ing. Denisa Hrušecká, as well as other professors at the Faculty of Management and Economics. In addition to the cooperation talks, teaching was not neglected either: Professor Huth gave lectures on "Project Management: Contract Logistics as an example" and "Business Information Systems: Digitization technologies in supply chains". Professor Huth also discussed their research topics and methodological approaches with doctoral students from the faculty.

The pioneering spirit and commitment of Tomáš Baťa were of particular importance not only for the university, but for the entire city. The eponym of the university is one of the great entrepreneurs of the Czech Republic, who expanded the family-owned shoemaking business into a global corporation and a leading shoe manufacturer. He also took into account the needs of the workforce by building schools and hospitals as well as affordable housing. More than 85 years after his accidental death, the traces of this true entrepreneur can still be seen all over the city and have a lasting influence on the cityscape.
