“The opportunity to lecture at Fulda University is both exciting and a great privilege!”

During 2018, Fulda University and the University of the Free State entered into an exchange program of students and staff between the two Universities. As part of this exchange program Dr Chris Hendriks is visiting Fulda University of Applied Sciences for the winter semester to teach a course in Supply Chain Management at the Department of Business.

Chris is focusing on supply chain management and the challenges of the modern world. In today’s digital world, the average buyer expects quick, efficient services from manufacturers and distributors. Big international corporations dealing with mass-produced products, supplies, and raw materials from all over the world therefore constantly need to improve their speed and efficiency. This is important as the success of any business links inextricably to the performance of its supply chain.

Chris has more than 30 years of experience in various roles as a practitioner in the supply chain environment and since 2010 he is a full time lecturer at the University of the Free State in supply chain management where he also act as promoter for PhD students. He prefer to make use of discussions and practical case studies to enhance active learning and student engagement.

Chris holds a PhD from the University of the Free State. Apart from lecturing, he has published regularly in peer-reviewed journals, contributed to book chapters, presented a number of papers at international conferences and taught short courses in Lesotho, Namibia and Uganda.
